Pacific Cocktail Haven

Located near San Francisco’s prestigious Union Square, P.C.H. is a lively bar that has quickly grown into one of America’s most acclaimed cocktail destinations. Founded in 2016 by “Best American Bartender” Kevin Diedrich, the bar has transformed from a neighborhood bar into a must-see destination for locals and visitors alike.

Since opening in San Francisco in 2016, Pacific Cocktail Haven (P.C.H.) and founder Kevin Diedrich have earned recognition among the leading bars and hospitality professionals in the United States and around the world. Built around thoughtful hospitality and cocktails inspired by the ingredients, flavors, and cultures of Asia and the Pacific, P.C.H. has grown from a neighborhood cocktail bar into an internationally recognized destination.

In 2020, P.C.H. was named Best American Cocktail Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, while Diedrich was simultaneously named American Bartender of the Year—a landmark double win for the bar and its founder. P.C.H. has since been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, The World’s 50 Best Bars, North America’s 50 Best Bars, Top 500 Bars, Esquire, Liquor.com, Time Out, and other leading voices in the global drinks community.

P.C.H.’s international recognition includes appearances among The World’s 100 Best Bars, four consecutive appearances on North America’s 50 Best Bars from 2023–2026, reaching No. 16 in North America in 2025, and recognition by Top 500 Bars, including a No. 81 global ranking in 2020 and another appearance at No. 238 in 2025.

The James Beard Foundation has also recognized both the bar and Diedrich, with Pacific Cocktail Haven named a finalist for Outstanding Bar and Kevin Diedrich winning the 2026 James Beard Award for Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service. Diedrich's individual honors also include 2020 American Bartender of the Year, Nightclub & Bar's Bartender-Owner of the Year, recognition as a San Francisco Chronicle Bar Star, and multiple industry nominations and honors.

His influence beyond the bar has also been recognized internationally by Drinks International’s Bar World 100, its annual ranking of the people considered among the most influential figures shaping the global bar industry. Diedrich was ranked No. 83 in 2025 and climbed to No. 65 in 2026, further recognizing his impact as a bartender, bar owner, mentor, and advocate for the broader hospitality community.

The San Francisco P.C.H. location was formerly the original Williams Sonoma, and the P.C.H. pineapple logo pays homage to that history. The pineapple is well known as the international sign of hospitality and it’s the perfect symbol for the P.C.H. logo. Dating back to the late 1600’s, the pineapple would be showcased at dinner parties as a symbol of friendship to welcome guests.

After a devastating fire in 2021, P.C.H. reopen in its current location at 550 Sutter Street.  The new P.C.H. continues to deliver on the same quality and friendly experience that regulars have come to know and love.  All while providing a better guest experience with more intimate seating areas, including a new outside patio.
